From 1 April 2017 a new group of contractors come within the schedular payment rules. Tax must be deducted by Halo from all payments made to contractors, on or after 1 April 2017 unless you have a certificate of exemption. This applies no matter what entity type you are contracting under, eg, individual, partnership, company. All Halo contractors need to complete the IR330C form or provide a certificate of exemption.
Halo Consulting requires all Contractors to have Public Liability and Professional Indemnity prior to commencing on a client site. We recommend a minimum cover of $2 million PI and $2 million PL however if a client requires a higher rate of cover then you must ensure that your policy matches their requirements. Once you have obtained a policy please ensure you send us a copy of the certificate prior to starting and ensure that the insurance is kept up to date and new certificates are sent through to us.
Halo Consulting recommends reviewing ACC’s guidelines for using computers to help prevent and manage discomfort, pain and injury.
